Day 20

Wesley Duewel, author of Mighty Prevailing Prayer, thoroughly covers the topic of prayer, quoting the great teachers of prayer—Finney, Murray, and others.  Today, I’ll share some of his “stand out” thoughts on the Burning Hearts call:

Prayer Commitment—30 Minutes a day in Prayer and Bible for 21 Days?  Duewel writes, “The Holy Spirit does not tap you on the shoulder each morning, lift you out of bed, and place you on your knees.  He does not rearrange your schedule so you have time for adequate prayer.  You will have to discipline yourself.  You will have to choose a life of prayer…”

Purity Commitment:  Not to touch or look at another person’s private parts, except your spouse (and if you’re not married, that means…no one)?  “When you face an overwhelming need, a human impossibility, and your soul hungers to see God intervene by supernatural power, add fasting.”

Purpose—to lead one person to Christ in the next 21 Days.  “When God called the church to supernatural work for Him, He provided supernatural power.  That supernatural dynamic of the Spirit operates through prayer, faith, and obedience.”  He continues, “We have been so busy depending on our own natural strengths, our good training, and our busyness for God that we are near spiritual bankruptcy.”

Pray…believing and expecting that God desires to meet you today, empower you today, and use you today—for His Glory!
