Day 15
Today…as we enter the final week of our 21 Day Challenge of personal revival, I thought I’d share some of Wesley Duewel’s quotes with you.
Wesley Duewel, author of Mighty Prevailing Prayer, was a former president of OMS International and 25 year missionary in India. In fact, every book he’s written (Ablaze for God, Revival Prayer) is a teaching on prayer, prayerlessness and prevailing prayer is just awesome
Prayer: To spend 30 minutes a day with God for 21 Days…
“Jesus longs to save you from a defective spiritual life and a defective prayer life. He must become more personally real to you. You must reciprocate His longing for communion with you.” (Wesley Duewel is radical about prayer—he has great teaching on prevailing prayer, especially. He is so passionate about the subject of prayer that I sense his mission work gave him an insight into spiritual power released in prayer!)
Purity: To keep your eyes and actions pure during this 21 Days of Personal Revival.
“Moses eighty days of communion and intercession, the last forty of which included much more importunate (relentless, prevailing) intercession, left a lifelong seal of God upon his life. Afterward he was a more patient, forgiving, and humble man of God than he had ever been. Importunate praying makes us ever more godlike in character.” (This reminds me of the IHOP posture—continuous time in the prayer rooms, really change the focus of our lives.)
Purpose: To bring one person to Christ during this 21 One Day Personal Revival—to actively share and pray for lost.
“Nothing is more eloquent to God than the tears, heart-cries, and groaning of God’s children as they vicariously identify with the sufferings of the world and plead for God’s mercy.” (WD quote)
